Tanking concrete floors
CODE: ci2
Price : £95.00
Concrete floors other than Bison beam upper floors as a rule dont need tanking. If the concrete floor is new, anhydrite screed or incorporates under floor heating they should have a stress or uncoupling membrane fitted especially under stone tiles.
These membranes or mats are often refered to as uncoupling or decoupling membranes and accommodate the shift when floors expand and contract.
The way it works: the 2 ply membrane separates the subfloor from the tiling. The lower membrane fixing to the floor the upper membrane having tiles fixed. As the floors dry, warm up or cool down the lateral movement or shift is accommodated by the lower membrane leaving the upper in tact preventing cracking.
Each kit contains:
- Dura-ci stress relief matting, 5,10 or 25m roll
- Dura-flex flexible jointing tape, 10, 15, 30m
Fixing is done with a flexible powdered tile adhesive and tiling can begin once the membrane is fixed with the same adhesive. A detail image and pdf are available on this product
