Wood floor tanking kits
Due to its very nature and the fact it expands and contracts wood needs treating with some respect when tanking and later tiling. You are advised to read the how to section on tanking and tiling on wood to gain a little understanding of where you are going.
We all know by now that you can not tile directly onto chipboard, it should either be strengthened by overboarding with 10/12mm ply wood or completely replaced with 22/25mm ply wood. The floors to be tiled need to be sound, free of vertical movement and have some method to prevent stresses from lateral deflection (when wood expands and contracts across its surface with warming and cooling) cracking your finished surface.
Dura-ci matting when used on wetroom, bathroom & shower wood floors both tanks and acts as a seperation membrane all in one.
The tanking / stress mat is just 3mm thick and supplied on a roll with flexi jointing tape and pre-made internal / external corners.
Fixing is done with a flexible powdered tile adhesive and tiling can begin once the membrane is fixed with the same adhesive. A detail image and pdf are available on this product
